Did you know? – Where to get job hunting resources – in your Library!


It’s time to say Good Luck!  A lot of students will finish their studies at the end of this month, and are starting to seek out jobs.  Do you need ideas for preparing your resume, and for interview skills?  Do you know you can always find resources through your TAFE Library? 

Your Library has access to a wide range of resources for the topics of Resume writing and Employment interviewing.

Four New Titles Added to Lidcombe Library Collections

Lidcombe College Library has added 4 new magazine titles to the serial collection in 2014.

They cover the following subjects, and would be very useful resources for your study at TAFE.
  • Interior decoration
  • House furnishings
  • Computer operating system – Linux
  • Woodwork


The new titles are:-
  1. Linux Format, from May 2014
  2. Country Home Ideas, from Vol. 14, No. 4 (August 2014)
  3. Inside Out, from October 2014
  4. Popular Woodworking, from October 2014

TVNews is a database that lets you search and retrieve news stories and related current affairs programs from the free-to-air networks -- ABC, ABC2, SBS, TEN, 9 and 7, with links to the digitised video content. Includes detailed synopsis with broadcasts and updated daily.

National Construction Code Series

The National Construction Code (NCC) provides a nationally accepted and uniform set of technical requirements for all areas of building, from design to construction.

The NCC includes the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) and is referred to as the building regulation in all States and Territories.

The NCC is divided into three volumes:
  • Volume 1 – Building Code of Australia (BCA) (Class 2 to 9 buildings)
  • Volume 2 – Building Code of Australia (BCA) (Class 1 and 10 buildings)
  • Volume 3 – Plumbing Code of Australia

Students can make requests for new titles to be purchased by the Library.


  • Fill in the Purchase Recommendation Form available at the Library Desk at Lidcombe and Chullora,or
  • Contact the Library by phone on 9643 4540 (Lidcombe) or 9742 0430 (Chullora), or
  • Just drop by with your textbook lists - the Library will order a copy of each new title.
