Celebrate Australian Library and Information Week @ Lidcombe Library

LIBRARY & INFORMATION WEEK is on right now across Australia.

At Lidcombe Library we are offering all Lidcombe and Chullora College staff a one-to-one personalised beginner Internet/Email session.

You may not have access to email, or other training programs, so we would like to enourage you to book a session at the Library on 9643 4540 any time this week and next week (Monday 25th May - Fri 5 June). If you know of someone else who might benefit please encourage them to come along.

These one hour sessions will open up the world of Email and the Internet to those

- who have been hesitant to try this often confusing new realm of information, or
- who just need a little more practice,
- or who have some unanswered questions about anything to do with computers.

If possible please arrange the setup of your TAFE email account, through the IT Services Unit, prior to your session.

Some people that might benefit include Storepersons, General Assistants, Technical Officers, Technical Assistants, Gardeners, Security, Cleaning and Maintenance staff, but there is no restriction on who can apply.

We look forward to seeing you very soon.

Library CLOSED Friday May 8th

Welcome back to the library after a refreshing Autumn break. We are fortunate to be getting a range of new staff and student computer desks, so we are closing on the 8th of May to allow for cabling and replacement of furniture... sorry for any inconvenience but those desks will be worth it!

Have you ever wondered what other titles might be useful textbooks for your students? One way is to use BookRenter.com. Although this is a US site for those wishing to hire textbooks, a simple subject search can enable you to find textbooks in your chosen field. It will give you the ISBN, a description and author, year of publication, etc. If you find a title you like, email us at swsi.lidcombelibrary@tafensw.edu.au and we can order it for you. Renewing yourLibrary Resources online

This is a reminder about how to renew your Library items online, from the comfort of your own loungeroom!

• Ask the library staff for your unique PIN NUMBER
• Go to the TAFE catalogue at: http://tafecat.tafensw.edu.au/tafecat.html
• Select Lidcombe TAFE from the list.
• Click the tab My Account.
• Click on Renew My Materials.
• Enter your 14 digit TAFE barcode found on your TAFECARD
• Enter your PIN number in the PIN box and you will see a list of your checkouts from all TAFE libraries.

You will not be able to renew your items online if:
• You have any library fines or items overdue
• You have renewed an item twice
• There is a reservation on the item
